Washoe County Library Provides Pornography for Kids – Two Library Board Seats Up for Vote on 9/19/23

The Library Board’s Present Decisions

The Washoe County Library has promoted drag queen story hour, where grown men dress in drag, for unknown reasons, want to read books to five year olds.  It hosts “Banned Books” week every year at the libraries and public schools where so-called “banned books” are on colorful display to promote and encourage all patrons, including kids, to read books such as “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl” (linked HERE: WARNING! Very sexually graphic material). Some people have attempted to read from these books at the County Commissioner meetings to bring awareness, only to be stopped from reading due to the pornographic content.

No Republican representation on the Library Board

The present library board does not have any Republican representation for Washoe County. What we have right now is the following:

  • Adult entertainer drag queens reading to kids
  • Banned books promotions
  • Progressive leftist board without ANY BALANCE, NO DIVERSITY
  • Director Jeff Scott with his personal agenda, using LGBTQ as his personal army
  • No Republicans or conservatives on that board
  • Pornographic books available to kids and teens on library shelves and in public schools
  • Blocking actual access to library patrons during drag queen reading times (two patrons had to “ask permission” from Jeff Scott to enter the library to use the bathroom, all caught on video)
  • Bullying of patrons by ‘umbrella twirling” Pride Day folks

The list goes on.

What is happening?

  • 2 seats are vacant on the Washoe County Library
  • Washoe County Commissioners will vote this Tuesday, Sept.19, 10 a.m. to fill these 2 seats
  • Of the 5 commissioners, 3 are Republican:  Clark, Herman and Andriola are Republican however, Commissioner Andriola votes with the Democrat Commissioners over 80% of the time.
  • All 3 Republicans, reports have it, are planning to vote for a Democrat to the library board (is this to garner Democrat votes in the upcoming election? Are favors being worked out behind closed doors?)

Washoe County Commissioners

Republican Commissioner Clara Andriola rarely votes with her mostly conservative constituents in District 4, Spanish Springs, but she needs to vote for Republicans this time, for BOTH seats, as do Commissioners Herman and Clark. Last chance for Republican Andriola. We are tracking all votes on this and future issues and promise to block re-election for any Republican officeholder that breaks rank with conservative constituents. Enough compromise, enough token appointments. Enough being sold out by our Republican representatives!

What is new, and what is the plan?

  • A new, local, morally based conservative coalition, the Community Impact Team, has formed and is a gathering storm of Washoe County voters who are demanding accountability of our elected Republican representatives. We will work to elect or defeat candidates based on their actual voting records or moral positions. Add your signature to the Community Impact Team petition, which will be presented to our Commissioners Monday. Let’s begin to hold these representatives’ feet to the fire … we start Tuesday, 10/19!  https://www.yourcommunityimpact.org/letter-signing-library-elections
  • Our Republican commissioners must put forward 5 Republican applicants in the first round of voting on Tuesday or, numerically and mathematically we will lose the seats.
  • Sign, show up, speak up and demand a change. We are done with politics as usual!

NOTE, we want reclassification of adult material in the library to be available only to adults. If someone, as a parent, wants to check out “Me & Earl & the Dying Girl” for their 12 year-old to read, they have that right. We are not opposing parental rights.

Banned Book List

The word “BAN” means “to make unavailable.” None of the books on the banned books list (their term, not ours) from the American Library Association (ALA) are unavailable, even in those libraries that have done the right thing and reclassified (or rated like movies) these books to the adult section. Don’t let them get away with these two illegitimate arguments.
