Pushing Our Boundaries

Diversity is a term being used more now than in any time before. Yet, diversity was God’s idea. Think about all the remarkable variety of plants, animals, insects, and marine life that God created. And His final creation, human beings, are diverse as well. We come in all sizes and shapes, various colors, countless temperaments, different levels of intellect, and we communicate in variety of languages. Yet,

Homosexuality has been in existence throughout history.  Until recently, the percentage of individuals who identified as LGBTQ+ was well below ten percent.  But the Gen Z population has increased that percentage to nearly twenty percent. This is likely the result of legislation and other efforts to expand the LGBTQ+ rights, as well as expanded media coverage.  Now, our schools and libraries are putting a great deal of emphasis on “celebrating” and promoting sexual ideology to children. What is the end game here?

Acceptance, Tolerance, and Inclusion?

Despite increased acceptance, tolerance, and inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community among Americans, we continually hear complaints, false claims, and shouts from protesters that discriminatory laws and social norms continue to exclude and marginalize these folks from housing, religious, health, employment, and education sectors of society. Give me a break! In our cancel-culture environment, we have bent over backwards to allow this community to move the needle and push the boundaries (that privately many do not condone)—all in an effort to avoid being labeled as bigots, homophobes, racists and whatever name with which they might tag us.

Let’s look at the historical progress of “inclusion,” expanded rights, and privileges from which the LGBTQ+ community has benefited.

  • The first gay rights demonstration took place in Philadelphia and Washington D.C. in 1965.
  • In 1973, the American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality as an “illness” classification in its diagnostic manual.
  • Since 1970, every June across America communities celebrate “pride marches.”
  • In 1972, the first gay minister was ordained by the United Church of Christ.
  • In the 1990’s the US military adopted the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” initiative to end discrimination of gay and lesbian military personnel.
  • In 2000, Vermont passed a law allowing “same-sex civil unions” which spread to other states.
  • In the early 2000’s transgender activism started to grow, along with same-sex couples raising children and promoted more in films and television.
  • On June 26, 2015, the US Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriage cannot be banned in the United States and that all same-sex marriages must be recognized nationwide, granting same-sex couples equal rights to heterosexual couples under the law.

So, there you have it. With same-sex marriage legalized, there isn’t anything from which the LGBTQ+ community is prohibited from participation in our society. And, they even get an entire month in which to celebrate their “pridefulness!” Gosh, heterosexuals don’t even get one day to celebrate their sexuality!

“Coming after our children”

But, what is more disturbing to God-honoring Americans than having sexual ideology and agenda forced on us at every aspect of our American life, is the boundaries the LGBTQ+ community is disgustingly crossing by coming after our children. I must point out, it is mainly the “TQ+” portion of this group leading the charge. Our publicly funded schools and libraries are being used as sexually perverted playgrounds for an ideology and clown show that should NOT be targeted at children. But, to hear the defensive comments from the Washoe County Library Board Director, he doesn’t believe the Drag Queen Story Hour horror shows are promoting sexual ideology. Here is part of the transcript of an interview with Mr. Jeff Scott (WC Library Board Director) conducted by a concerned citizen reporter who recorded a video of what was occurring at a Drag Queen Story Hour event at the downtown Reno Library on June 15, 2023.

The Citizen reporter asked Mr. Scott if the numerous gay pride rainbow flags in the library or (workplace for some) “were promoting one sexual ideology over another?”

Jeff Scott: “Is that what it means?”

Citizen Reporter: “Does anybody ever protest or say they don’t like this in my library that works here?”

Jeff Scott: “I’ve never heard it.”

Citizen Reporter: “So nobody has ever said anything?”

Jeff Scott: “Not that I know of.”

Citizen Reporter: “If they did, what would be the policy to resolve it?”

Jeff Scott: “I don’t know. Training. Go over it. Get over it, I guess.”

Citizen Reporter: “So you would tell them to “get over it” and ignore it?”

Jeff Scott: “Yeah.”

Citizen Reporter: “So why is it the library’s responsibility to push an ideology of sexuality with small children?”

Jeff Scott: “We’re not promoting that. What are you talking about?”

Citizen Reporter: “If you’re promoting transsexualism or transvestitism, you’re promoting the LGBTQ agenda, which is a sexual agenda.”

Jeff Scott: “It’s not a sexual agenda. It never appeared to me to be a sexual agenda.”

Later, the citizen reporter recorded another reporter interviewing Mr. Jeff Scott. The interviewer asked Mr. Scott, “Why do you think events like this are important to the community?”

Jeff Scott: “We want to make sure that everyone feels welcome in the community. I think that the LGBTQ community has been under attack, especially in the last few years and it’s sad to see that. I think the community wants to see everyone welcomed, and you know we’ve got people here with rainbows and having a good time and that what we’re all about.”

No Mr. Scott, we are the ones under attack, and we do not feel welcomed in our publicly funded facilities that support this nonsense, and that prohibit the concerned public from viewing these freak show story hours to see what is really occurring. These horrific events are only available to children under 18 and their parents who “drag” their kids to these sex shows. What kind of parent would submit their child to this hideousness?

LGBTQ is crossing all boundaries

This nonsense has crossed our boundaries! Our school boundaries, our library boundaries, our television/film boundaries, and in some instances our church boundaries. Consenting adults can be intimate with whomever they choose. But publicly sharing that intimacy is out-of-bounds. The LGBTQ+ community and their sexual ideology is no longer “excluded”—it is forcibly “included” in our everyday lives. This weekend to culminate the month-long, in-our-face celebration of perverted sexuality, pride parades in a few large cities included LGBTQ individuals and groups parading, dancing, bike-riding, twerking, and showering in public fountains naked in front of children. Of course, it’s the parents who exposed their children to this filth. But, what was worse, were the parade of evil-doers chanting, “We’re here, we’re queer, we’re coming for your children!”

That is a boundary too far! God gives us freedom to choose to live within His boundaries. Clearly, the LGBTQ+ community has made the wrong choice. Take a stand. Protect our children!
